Theory 48: The Diversity of Beings in Existence Will Be Far Greater in the Future Than It Is Today
1. The scientific view (evolution and cosmology)
According to evolutionary theory, new species arise over time through genetic mutation, natural selection, and adaptation to environment. As environmental conditions change, entirely new species may well emerge. If life exists on other planets, or comes to exist in the future, biodiversity on a cosmic scale could increase dramatically. Advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, and genetic engineering may give rise to new forms of life, such as digital beings or hybrids of biology and machine.
2. The philosophical and futurological view
Some philosophers believe consciousness could emerge in non-biological forms, such as advanced artificial intelligence, increasing the diversity of intelligent beings. If multiverse theory proves correct, entirely different kinds of beings, still unknown to us, may exist in parallel universes.
3. The religious and mystical view
Some religious and mystical texts refer to the expansion of creation and the emergence of new beings in the future. In Islam, certain traditions refer to unknown beings in the heavens and the earth, echoing the Quranic verse: And He creates what you do not know (16:8). In mysticism, there is also the concept of continuous creation.
Conclusion
Given scientific progress, cosmic possibilities, and even religious insight, there is a strong likelihood that the diversity of beings in the future, whether on Earth or across the cosmos, will far exceed what exists today. If the future of existence continues toward greater complexity and diversity, it may hold endless wonders within it.
